The Westmark Group (Westmark) provides our Industrial sector clients services including site assessment, remediation, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans (SPCC), exposure assessments, and permitting compliance assistance.
Westmark completed a Phase II Investigation and Risk Based Closure Assessment for an industrial facility located in Las Vegas, Nevada. When initial due diligence for the site indicated a need for additional characterization, Westmark conducted soil and groundwater sampling to determine the nature and extent of potential contamination. Westmark’s in-house engineers worked with civil engineering firms to design the most appropriate remediation system for the site. Westmark operates and maintains the remediation system, as well as conducts quarterly monitoring and sampling in order to maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Westmark personnel conducted site assessment (Phase I), investigation (Phase II), and remediation services (Phase III) to allow for successful redevelopment of a former lumber mill and industrial complex in northern California as a commercial shopping center. Westmark was responsible for coordinating fieldwork, ensuring proper documentation, collecting samples, overseeing of subcontractors, and preparing a report of findings. Westmark prepared county and state agency approved remedial action plans establishing clean-up goals and remediation actions for petroleum affected soils. Westmark interfaced with county inspectors during identification of impacted materials and negotiations for remediation actions. Westmark’s creative remediation solution of placing petroleum affected soil under finished surface paving helped save the client $300,000 in unnecessary remediation fees and reduced construction costs.
Westmark has prepared SPCC Plans for a variety of industrial facilities throughout California. Westmark prepared all Plans in accordance with Title 40 CFR Part 112 and each Plan contained the elements and certifications required under federal regulations.
Westmark assisted a client with a proactive effort to address a potential exposure issue in a spray booth operation by conducting an exposure and regulatory assessment. Westmark evaluated potential exposures to chemical constituents known or suspected to be present in the paint compound used by the client and gauged client’s level of regulatory compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards as those Standards pertained to the client’s operations.
Westmark has completed dust monitoring for industrial operations for a facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Westmark collected air samples in order to evaluate potential employee exposure to particulate matter during facility operations and provided the client with a report of findings.
